From the first day that USADA partnered with the UFC for year round drug testing, they immediately banned the use of IV’s.
This caused quite the uproar as most fighters used them after weigh ins to re-hydrate, but on the flip side, steroid users also use the IV’s to distort drug test masking whatever substance they are using and making it impossible to test for.
At UFC 217, Paulo Cost fought Johnny Hendricks, and video of Costa in his hotel room with an IV needle stuck in his arm was delivered to USADA by an informant. Now knowing that USADA has flagged him, this makes this video even more suspect. Check it out:
