Former UFC two division champion Conor McGregor is currently without a fight now that Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone will be facing Al Iaquinta in Ottawa.
Everyone was expecting him to either face Nate Diaz in a trilogy fight or wait for Khabib Nurmagomedov to come back but a new fight has entered into the equation.
Conor McGregor’s manager told the ‘Irish Sports Times’ that they are in the first stages of negotiations with the UFC to face Jorge Masvidal on International fight week in July:
Conor McGregor’s Manager:
“The Cowboy fight fell through some time ago so that’s not what were looking at” McGregor’s manager Attar told the Irish Sports Times, “But Conor wants Jorge Masvidal after his last performance, that’s a fight that will get him out of bed.” When asked if this is a fight that could possibly happen McGregor’s manager Attar said “Yes, we’re already in the first stages of negotiation with the UFC.”
Jorge Masvidal explained in a tweet what would happen if they were to fight:
I’d finish him with strikes. No one has done that to him right? https://t.co/rexUPt9Xzz
